Replaced new filter with old one and all is fine. New filters are different on the insert - old ones had one large hole with multiple tiny holes around it. New ones have one large hole and two slotted holes on each side. All three new ones are lousy. Takes 45-60 seconds to fill a standard 8oz glass. Not acceptable. Called GE directly who said no change has been made to product line. Bought two more in town, one from Sears, another from HH Gregg. Both have the same design as the new ones from FiltersFast and are also lousy. I have resorted to using the filter plug in order to have decent water flow. The filter design has obviously changed and either GE is not admitting to it or their representatives are ignorant to the change. I hate my fridge now and currently using a Brita pitcher filter on the counter top. Neither Filtersfast, Sears or HH Gregg will accept a return. I'm now a proud owner of six new filters, over $200 in cost, that won't work worth a flip. Oh, and those of you who want to repeat what GE told me over the phone - yes, both the old filter with the tiny holes and the bypass plug work fine. There is NO clog in the water line. It's the lousy new filters that GE is pushing to all the vendors. |

After the first night of using this in my bedroom, I woke up and could actually breathe. My nose is normally clogged in the morning. Hopefully I'll be able to stop sleeping with nasal strips soon! Also, my dog has had watery eyes for a while and has been having a runny nose the past month or so. I didn't even think about the purifier helping with this problem. I happened to notice after the first night of using the purifier, her eyes were not wet around them like they normally are and her nose was not running. I also purchased a larger purifier to use in the living room, so hopefully that will help both my dog and myself for times other than while sleeping. The noise isn't too bad, but I am used to sleeping with a humidifier. The high setting would be too loud to sleep with. I use it on the medium setting during the night and my humidifier is also on medium during the night. The humidifier is definitely louder than the air purifier. I would definitely recommend this air purifier to others. I may even purchase one to take to my parents' house and use there when I stay overnight. My dad smokes and my eyes, nose, and throat are typically burning after one night. Maybe the purifier will help clear the air in the room I sleep just a bit. I'm sure my mom will also run it 24 hours a day while I'm gone to help with the smoke!! |

I ordered knowing this was possible, but since the Product Details specifically mentioned that this is LG part number LT600P *and* the Product Description mentions all the impurities removed by the LT600P (which are NOT removed by the 5231JA2006A), I figured I'd take a chance. Nope, my invoice shows that I ordered a LT600P (or "B" filter) but I was sent an LG 5231JA2006A, which as other reviewers pointed out is a substantially inferior product. I'm sure that this vendor and Amazon are covering their bases by saying on the product page: "Also known as the 5231JA2006A" but this is NOT A TRUE STATEMENT. The reviewer that stated that he called LG and LG says that it is the same is simply wrong. I verified this by: 1) going to another online retailer that offers both "A" and "B" filters for sale. The specs and price are most assuredly different on those two filters 2) The spec sheet that came in my "A" filter are substantially inferior to those listed on the product details page for the LT600P. Now the Good News: I only paid approx $36 shipped, which is about what the inferior 5231JA2006A should cost online. The LT600P (also known as 5231JA2006B) costs around $45+ shipped. So, I paid the appropriate amount for the inferior product, and got same. They are still ripping people off by promising the better filter for the inferior product's price. Buyer Beware! |

I couldn't believe it when I read in the PediPaws instructions; "Hold your dog down to the floor--do NOT let him get away! If he "wins", you will lose! Be in charge!" Okay, so maybe that's not 100% accurate, but that's pretty much what they are saying. No wonder people are struggling with this product. Forcing your dog to be tortured by something he is terrified of is NOT going to allow you to properly trim his nails any time soon. Apparently PediPaws didnt consult any actual animal behaviorists when writing their manual. We have two 15 lb dogs. The first time I turned it on, they both bolted. The second time I turned it on and tried to hold them and Pedi by myself, disaster. Third time we decided to tag team. I was the holder and treat giver, my boyfriend did the filing. Once the dogs realized all they had to do was sit there and get their faces stuffed with treats, it turned around quickly. By the end of working on their front paws for 5 minutes, they were both perfectly fine with it. Some advice for people who are struggling; dont rush, it will take at least a few times to get used to it. Have TONS of treats on hand, preferably your dog's most favorite. And use a helper. Unless your dog is comatose and/or completely acclimated to the product, I dont know how a single person could do this by themselves. Also, the product is badly designed in how the label is situated on the product. You actually hold it with the label upside down, and the tear drop shape facing small side up. That is counter-intuitive to how it looks. Be patient, use lots of cookies and you should be able to figure it out. |
