Kristen Chenoweth is talent personified. A Tony award winner and star of multiple Broadway shows including "Wicked" and the currently-playing revival of "Promises, Promises". This album offers up a nicely done variety of song styles and tempos. A standout is "If You Hadn't", a tongue-twister of a song with tons of words that rhyme with the word "if". She pulls it off brilliantly. "The Girl in 14G" offers up a view of her vocal versatility from jazzy to operatic. Jason Alexander makes a guest appearance and their rapport in "Hanging Around With You" is great. There is not one bad track on this CD, in my opinion. You'll enjoy it and become a fan of miss Chenoweth.

I was hesitant to buy this CD because the title is really over-the-top, and now wish that I hadn't. The disc is OK, but I own other hymn collections I like much better. The performances are inconsistent, and several of the arrangements are downright schmaltzy. This is one of the few collections that contain one of my favorite hymns -- "Fairest Lord Jesus" and I also like the title hymn a lot, but don't think these two hymns are worth the price of the disc. I admit I'm a purist and I like hymns sung in a straightforward manner, with the occasional descant to add interest and texture. Sadly, this collections lived down to my expectations.

I Bought this for my 18 year old Autistic son. He loves music. Sometimes he gets wound up so I thought this would be good to help him unwind at night before he goes to bed. He seems to like it a lot. I know I do. It is good to add the classics to our collection.

The whole Vox Music Masters series has been a treat from age 4 on. The stories are child-oriented, but not sugary sweet (divorce and insanity both mentioned if it is appropriate for that composer). The short clips one review complained of caught the ear of my son, and he'll even pick out the tunes if he hears them as musak in a department store.

There are better recordings of all these pieces save one and that's the one I was looking for. It's very hard to find 'Bist du bei mir' ('If Thou Be Near', also called 'Art Thou With Me') sung in English and the Morman Tabernacle Choir does its usual wonderful job on this disk. This collection on LP was indeed my introduction to Bach many years ago. It is a great one and I still love all these pieces although I've long since found higher quality renditions of most. 'If Thou Be Near' however, struck such a chord with me even as a young person, I decided I wanted it sung at my funeral, and even all these years later, I still do (and am a lot closer to that eventuality :). Later efforts to find it on CD in English were fruitless. I couldn't even find this collection on CD when I was first looking.

This is an excellent selection of Bach pieces and shows his range and style well. It's a good place to start to determine which things you'd like to find great performances of for long term listening and, perhaps like me, you might come to love the song I always called 'I go with joy...' as a perfect parting gift to your loved ones.

My package arrived on time,in excellent condition,no problem with the seller as far as billing,etc. But-when I played it-it is not the 3 tenors singing together,but rather each one singing individually.If I had wanted that I would have ordered solo albums .Also..it is only select songs and excerpts ...not the concert in its entirety. I felt scammed.

Mario Lanza has one of the finest voices I have ever heard.
When I play the CD for other people they marvel at his
voice. He sings both opera and popular music with both
the same vitality and energy. He was one of my favorites
years ago and we lost him much too soon. So glad I can
listen to him whenever I chose to and enjoy his beautiful
voice.
